Marc was helping her bring in her stuff. She had four suitcases. "I'll see you later, Tora." He said, giving her a hug before he left. So far, the dorm was empty. There was two bed across from the door, each without a comforter. There where to dressers, two cloest doors, two desks, each with a chair, two bookcases, and two bed-side tables, both tables had a lamp. Tora opened a suitcase and pulled out a duvet, sheets, and pillow cases, along with a small throw. She shet up the small twin bed, the one closest to the door. After that she opened anoother suitcase. Books tumbled out and she began putting manga, books, and the text books she already had on the bookshelf on her side. She opened the last two suitcases, both filled with clothes. She glared at the items of clothing before starting the tedious task of putting her clothes away. Half way though, she unearthed the laptop she stuck in there and put it on her desk, turning t on and bring up iTunes. "Take Me or Leave Me" from RENT began to play. She softly sang along to the music as she once again began her task of putting clothes away. (The bed set: )

"Room 202. Here goes nothing." I could tell the room was occupied because we're required to sign in on the outside. "Tora Mori. Hm..." I knocked on the door to my new dorm, nervous to see who, or what, was waiting for me inside. The door opened a crack, and I pushed myself the rest of the way through, obliviously slamming it into my new roomate. I started to unpack, still blissfully ignoring the human presence watching my every move. I started pulling clothes, shoes, notebooks, laptop, and CDs out of my duffel bag. I plugged in my laptop charger, set the CDs and laptop on the nightstand, and stuffed my clothes into the dresser. "You know, you have to wear the uniform all day, all year." The voice coming from behind me made me flinch. "Crap, I didn't know you were in here!" I lied beautifully. Then it dawned on me. "Oh snap, I forgot to buy my uniform!" I'd prepared for coming to this school without any help from my parents. "Don't worry. You can just buy an extra one in the school store. I would get more than one, though, because you have to wear whatever uniforms you have all the time, no matter how long it's been since they've been washed." I shrugged. "I can rough it. A couple dirt smudges and smelly skirts never hurt anyone." I pulled the last two things out of a separate duffel bag, my prom dress and bedspread. I sniffed the comforter, still smelling of lavender fabric softener and dogs from home, and sighed. I hope this works out, I thought. I set my blankets back down on the bed and sprawled on the floor, forgetting that there was still someone else in the room. I stared at the ceiling fan, watching the wings go around and around, and found myself nodding off. While her Roommate was sleeping, Tora pulled out her CDs. Greenday,My Chemical Romance, RENT soundtrack, Grease soundtrack. She flipped though the CDs one by one. Then she noticed something. "I'm gonna kill him!" She shouted glarring at the System Of A Down cover. "He fucking stold my Barenaked Ladies and Bowling for soup!"

A bomb woke me up. The F-bomb. "What the..." Then I realized I was on the ground. "What the...?" I pushed myself off of the ground and back on my feet. A girl was looking through her CDs. My roommate. Roommate. I could never get used to the usage of that word. I wasn't supposed to be here. I was supposed to back with my friends, Erika and Connie, and my boyfriends, Tommy and Zach and Ted. I never got to tell Zach and Ted I already had a boyfriend. I have a problem with saying no, and they were acting so sweet! Oh well, I had to dump them all anyway. Stupid school. Stupid life. I dropped onto to the bed and blocked out the tired part of my body.

Tora had forgotten her roommate was there. She also forgot that the girl was sleeping. That reminded her, she didn't know the girls name. "I'm Tora, by the way." She said. "You are?" She tilted her head, hr hair falling to the side.

She brought the flip phone up to see who was calling. Marc. "YOU!" She screamed into the phone as she paced and began to explain her brother's gory death.

"I'm Zoey..." I trailed off. My roommate was obviously a fickle person, asking a question and totally ignoring the answer. I listened to Tora scream at someone on the phone who seemed to be her brother or something. Then she started talking about blood and chainsaws, and the thought of the red liquid made me faint right back onto the floor.

"Look what you did!" She screamed at Brian. "You made my roommate faint!" "Tora, Sis," The Japanese flowed from the other end of the line. "Why are you talking in English?" "Because I want to!" Tora yelled in Japanese, a blush spreading across her cheeks. She was so glad Brian was in Japan. "You're blushing!" He yelled. "Am not!" Her blush grew hotter. "I can hear it in your voice!" She hung up on him. That was one way to get rid of your pesky twin that lived in Japan. Now what was she gonna do with her roommate?

I woke up again. Man, I was ending up on the floor a lot lately. If this kept happening, I'd need a personal chiropractor. I pulled myself onto the bed and looked at my roommate. "Who was that you were talking on the phone with?"

"My brother," Tora replied breezily. A small smile lit up her features. "So where are you from, Zoey-Chan?" She asked aas she sat on her own bed, a teal pillow under her head. She kicked off her black flats as she waited for an answer.

"Florida," I said, opening my laptop and checking my email. Nothing. Whatever. "Pensicola. United States," I added, not totally sure if Tora knew the USA map. I plugged in my iPod charger, put my iPod on it, and started playing iTunes. Change by Taylor Swift came on. "Do you like country music?"

"'Country music'?" Tora asked. She knew where Florida was, thank you very much. Marc forced her to mermorize the whole United States of America map. But she never heard this "Country" music. "What's that?" She asked as she stood up and crossed the short distance to her laptop and turned off her iTunes.

What was country music? How do you describe country music? "The singers sing like 'y'all' and stuff..." This was getting nowhere. "Why don't you just listen?" I put on "Love Story" by Taylor Swift and turned the volume up all the way.

Tora listened to the beat as it spilled from the speakers, then the soft voice singing the lyrics. She remembered the instrument and what her mother said about that kind of music. "My mother doesn't let me listen to this music. She only wanted me to listen to classical. When she had the servants, or the rare times she had done it herself, come to my quarters and check my music, I hid my rock with my delicates." Tora said.

"Haha, nice." I left the song going on iTunes and checked my email again. Still no messages. Not a single one. Fine. So be it. I no longer had friends from the outside world. That was cool. It wasn't like I was ever going to see them again. Then AIM popped up. It was Zach. Hey. I exited the box. I wasn't ready to talk to him again. He was the one I actually liked. Actually loved. Ugh, relationships were so hard. I became a player, and everything went downhill. The song Forever and Always came on. Perfect.

When the song "Always and Forever" came on, Tora made a small gagging sound. She remembered seeing Brian, in nothing but a towel, dancing to this song in his "house". Her ex popped into her mind for a brief second, but she pushed that back. No time to think about him. "You should have been able to meet my brother." She said, just to fill the silence.
