It wasn’t a bad room, compared to some of the rooms I’ve had at some other schools. There was a bed on either side of the room, two dressers, two bedside tables, two computer desks and two closets. The room was completely empty and plain; fortunately it left a lot to the imagination. A room like this had promise, there was lots of wall space for personal touches and for a dorm room, and it had a nice amount of floor space as well.
Fortunately I thought to bring my bedding form home, the dorm rooms didn’t even provide that much. I didn’t mind I would have used mine regardless. I also brought my favorite lamp, an array of photos, posters and pictures for my side of the room, and various other personal items to spruce up a room and give it a personal touch.
I wondered what my roommate would be like as I put my beddings on my new bed and began unpacking my clothes. I was slightly nervous to meet her, like I always was when it was time to meet a new roommate and I hoped she didn’t mind what I did with my side of the room. I decided to wait until she arrived before I started anything, because if were both going to be living here, we both need to feel comfortable.
I grabbed my ipod from the top of a box it was resting and shuffled through the library, finally deciding on an upbeat techno song. I plugged it into my docking station currently set up on my bedside table and pushed play.
There was no better way to unpack in a new home then doing it while dancing to Cascada.
